South Sudanese refugees who have just arrived in Uganda wait in line to get their belongings. After one night in a reception center, the refugees move to Omogo settlement where they can start farming and going to school again. There are now over 1 million South Sudanese refugees in Uganda, and around 85% are women and children.

Othman ended up in Tunisia from Somalia via Kenya, Ethiopia and Libya after the migrant boat stopped working and Tunisian coast guard saved them. He got water in his lungs and needed surgery. During his journey he was beaten by smugglers and robbers, and he has a brain injury. He has heard his family lives now in Sweden, so that's where he wants to go too.
The sea is very shallow just next to the Tunisian coast, but storms and lack of swimming skills result in many deaths.

Here, near the village of Qulujeed, they had to stop and wait for emergency aid from the Red Crescent and other NGOs. The few animals still alive started to die.

Houses are getting rebuilt using local palm trees, after typhoon Haiyan hit the Philippines and destroyed the livelihood of many palm tree farmers. It takes three years to grow new trees.
